Table for Six (T46): six strangers, one table, one good night out

Table for Six (T46) is an in-person "blind-box" social event in China: search Table for Six to book, and we match you with five other people at one table for dinner or drinks. We currently run in 12 Chinese cities, including Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. The RMB 58 dinner fee does not include the meal; diners split the bill at the restaurant. Drinks are RMB 88 Monday to Thursday and RMB 118 Friday to Sunday.

What is Table for Six?

"Blind box" (盲盒, manghe) is the Chinese name for a sealed surprise box. A blind-box drinks night works the same way: when you book, you don't know who you'll sit with or which bar you'll end up in. You pick a city and a time slot, answer a short questionnaire about yourself, and we put a table of six together, with conversation cards made for that table.

There's no agenda. You're not there to network or find a date. It's one evening: some food, a drink, and five lives you'd probably never have crossed paths with.

How it works, in three steps

1. Book. Search Table for Six, choose your city, date and format (dinner or drinks), fill in the questionnaire and pay.
2. Get matched. Each table has six people, either gender-balanced or women-only. You'll usually find out the venue and a short introduction to your tablemates about 24 hours before the start.
3. Show up. Conversation cards on the table keep things moving. Most tables run 2–3 hours, though there's no fixed end time.

Right now, Table for Six tables are in Chinese. English-speaking tables, events for international guests, and an overseas version are all on the way. We haven't set dates yet.

Is it like Timeleft?

The idea is similar: strangers matched into a small group, meeting in real life. Timeleft does this in 200+ cities across 52 countries, but as of 20 Oct 2026 its locations page lists no city in China (Hong Kong is listed). Table for Six is built for China: you book through WeChat or Xiaohongshu, pay per table (Timeleft says on its site that a membership is needed to book), and choose a gender-balanced or women-only table.
